Position

Director/Associate Director, Dairy and Food, BRAC Enterprises

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational:

  • Provide strategic inputs in developing Business Strategy for the Enterprises.
  • Provide leaderships in development and execution of Annual Budget and Annual Plan for BRAC dairy and Food Project. Develop and implement standard operating policies & procedures to support overall BRAC enterprise’s strategy.
  • Execute strategies by setting priorities and providing targets (financial and non-financial) and ensure that adequate resources are available to meet targets. Make sure proper allocation of annual budget to accomplish the planned activities for achieving goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that the appropriate systems and processes are in place and that are being adhered to in order to maximize productivity while ensuring business and operational integrity and quality. Ensure the compliance of enterprise requirements for quality management, legal stipulations, and general duty of care.
  • Establish and monitor performance reporting systems of BRAC Dairy and Food Project (i.e. track performance against goals etc.).
  • Establish and maintain strong relationship with international and national Dairy and Food industry as well as private companies for getting the updated market knowledge across the world.
  • Establish and oversee the proper monitoring and reporting structure to ensure the expected quality of products and services and conduct quarterly evaluation according to the evaluation framework.
  • Develop proper communication structure to communicate with the clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the enterprise and to solicit input to improve the social business.

 

Sales & Marketing and Customer Service:

  • Manage marketing and communication to contribute towards brand building of Dairy and Food project, keeping BRAC Values in perspective.
  • Manage sales and distribution channels effectively as well as distribution networks to ensure the availability of products for the consumers
  • Refine and enforce Social Enterprise Units with high standard for customer service.

 

People management and Staff development:

  • Lead the senior management team in Dairy and food project, provide leadership and management support. Conduct regular meetings with departmental heads to ensure that priorities are clear and coordination is smooth.
  • Hire, train, motivate, direct, coach, evaluate and retain high performers & key positions.
  • Set performance targets for immediate subordinates and individual development plan for all staff.
  • Ensure the proper team collaboration by incorporating guidance and feedback culture in the team.

 

Safeguarding:

  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters/MBA in Marketing/ Finance & Accounts/HR/Food technology/Dairy Science from any reputed university.

Experience Requirement:

  • At least 15 years of experience in relevant field with at least five years’ experience in leadership positions in general management, project management and/or budgetary oversight in food processing industry (may be relaxed for exception cases).

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrable understandings of multiple business models, competitive dynamics, value creation opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning.
  • An in-depth understanding of financial statements and working knowledge of procurement and supply chain process.
  • Ability to manage sales and distribution networks and make these networks more effective and efficient.
  • Ability to run impactful marketing and communication campaigns for brand building.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross functional individuals and teams.
  • Managing operations, sales and marketing, strategic planning, finance, and human resources.
