DEPUTY HEAD OF CREDIT – FIELD OPERATIONS
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Reports to: Head of Credit
Purpose: To provide overall management and supervision of the Credit operations in the network ensuring growth of the loan book and portfolio quality management. The position works directly with divisional managers and other supervisors to ensure Brac Uganda Bank loan portfolio quality is attained, maximizing loan profitability within capital risk limitations.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Ensuring portfolio growth in line with strategic and business plans.
- Ensuring healthy, sustainable portfolio quality and managing performance of Divisional Managers.
- Contribute in preparing strategies and business plans to ensure overall goals of the bank is achieved with efficiency and effectively.
- Continuous review of credit policies and procedures in line with regulations and changing market and client needs in order to remain relevant.
- Facilitating the monthly delinquency and other credit Management Committee meetings
- Participating in development of new lending products
- Closely work with HR & training department to ensure people development, succession plan and staffing are carried out to confirm bank has the right kind of resources as and when required.
- Liaise with the compliance, risk & internal audit departments to implement action plans to address policies and procedures violations as highlighted in the compliance reports.
- To design and pilot new products with the credit administration staff of Brac Uganda Bank Limited; Business Development Unit etc.
- Follow up and ensure departmental accountabilities are made in a timely manner
- Maintain efficient and effective operations and ensure the unit runs its operations within approved budgets
- Drive value and compliance driven culture at the field.
- Solving Credit function problems as they arise from time to time.
- Any other duty that may be assigned
Requirements
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounts, Finance, Statistics or Business Administration.
- Master’s Degree is added advantage
Experience Requirement:
- At least 08 years’ experience in regulated microfinance/Banking sector holding various senior positions.
- At least 02 years’ experience of working as Divisional Manager.
- Experience in Credit Management is a must
Additional Requirements:
- Strong managerial and interpersonal skills coupled with analytical and soft skills.
- Good presentation skills
