Finance Director, BRAC International Holding B.V.-AD# BI 06/21

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Finance Director will contribute to the overall success of the entity operations by supporting microfinance growth strategy, managing smooth running of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), ensuring regulatory compliance and reporting, maintaining effective relationship with equity partners and lenders to arrange funds at optimized cost. The key responsibilities include but not limited to the following-

Financial Reporting, Audit and Control 

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports to the stakeholders of BRAC International Holdings B.V. by following applicable International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Responsible for completion of the annual audit for BRAC International Micro Finance Entities and liaise with the boards about the findings and follow up of actions.
  • Assist the Managing Director, BRAC International Holdings B.V. and Director Finance, Stitching BRAC International with financial reporting as required at board meetings and other senior management meetings.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports to the stakeholders of BRAC International Holdings BV by following applicable International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Responsible for completion of the annual audit for BRAC International Micro Finance Entities and liaise with the boards about the findings and follow up of actions.
  • Assist the Managing Director, BRAC International Holdings B.V. and Director Finance, Stitching BRAC International with financial reporting as required at board meetings and other senior management meetings.

Support Microfinance Teams to Deliver Growth Strategy

  • Manage B.V. Holdings level debt raising process including Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Entity operations, reporting and regulatory compliance to support Micro Finance growth strategy.
  • Act as a finance business partner to the B.V. microfinance global teams and participate in any ad-hoc project as advised by the Senior Director microfinance, BRAC and BRAC International /Managing Director BRAC International Holdings B.V.

Treasury and Fund Management 

  • Develop treasury policy for Stitching BRAC International and act as the member secretary of quarterly group treasury committee to optimize group cash flow management and cost of debt.
  • Ensure effective projection of entity long term cash flow and consolidate group cash flow requirement to arrange adequate funds for smooth running of operations
  • Drive the due diligence process for equity and debt transactions to ensure successful close of deals.
  • Build effective relationship with lenders, review and submit financial reports to them, take necessary steps to implement the recommendation regarding financial nature.

Budget and Planning Process

 

  • Drive the annual budget preparation for BRAC International microfinance entities in consultation with the Managing Director, BRAC International Holdings B.V. and Director Finance, Stitching BRAC International
  • Track and monitor operational performance of microfinance entities to deliver budget targets Regulatory Compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Tax and VAT laws and other statutory obligation for B.V. entities including timely submission of organizational taxes to the tax authority. 
  • Follow up with the internal and external auditors, provide necessary support to them and ensure all audit issues are addressed to maintain sound control environment.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the program by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

  • At least Bachelor Degree in any business discipline / MBA (Degree from USA / UK/ European Countries will be preferred-
  • Recognized Professional Qualification on Finance and Accounting such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), USA, or Chartered Accountants of ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or Chartered Management Accountants, UK. or Nederlandse Beroepsorganisatie van Accountants (NBA Netherlands).
  • Any recognized Treasury/Corporate Finance certification will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirement:

At least 7 years of experience in commercial treasury and/or microfinance institutions or development finance institutions or banking operation with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively in groups and independently; demonstrated initiative and creativity when solving problems.
  • Proven track record of success in managing large complex projects and financial systems in overseas or domestic settings in a bank, finance company or large microfinance institution and setting up & managing inter-company transactions.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, a collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
  • Needs to be seen as a team player that is committed to lifelong learning
  • An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.
  • Strong commitment to developing and helping team members in various sectors.
  • Willing to travel both within and outside country.
  • Flexible to work in different time zone.
