Position: Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist

Job Description/Responsibilities:
Communication:
Develop and ensure implementation of a communication and advocacy strategy and Action Plan in line with BRAC Communication Guidelines and follow up its implementation in coordination with SDP team
Write posts/ updates/ op-eds/ blogs and provide content (text, photos, design) where needed on Workplace, SDP and its projects websites, BRAC websites, BRAC social media teams, BRAC Bulletin, Shetu and in other relevant reports and publications, as required (in cooperation with Communications and Advocacy department)
Write and edit clear and compelling media advisories and press releases that avoid jargon and cliché, and ensure media coverage in coordination with BRAC’s communication and advocacy department
Ensure regularly updated stock of diverse stories (both in Bengali and English) and high quality photos of all projects, pilots and program events
Organise events (e.g. disseminations seminars, inauguration) according to program’s needs
Facilitate development of videos, design and print material as per unit/project needs
Follow up with the communications, advocacy, procurement and other departments as well as external agencies and vendors to ensure deliverables on time
Ensure all colleagues, and other departments liaising with partners/donors have all communication materials in place on time
Proofread content developed by SDP staff and function as doorkeeper of quality of all documents, materials, and publications Knowledge Management:
Contribute to develop SDP Business Plan/ Proposal and manage (arrange timely reviews and updating) of SDP’s strategic documents (Annual Report, Progress Reports, AoP, Results/ M&E Framework, SDP Log Frame etc.)
Coordinate with all SDP units/ projects/ interventions and work closely with M&E staff for data management and MIS
Ensure proper documentation of SDP interventions and dissemination of learning
Contribute to SDP research and studies and also conduct research on issues, trends and events shaping the program’s work and share that information and products with the wider BRAC family and the results with external audience on various platforms Others:
As much as possible, promote the use of advanced technology
Provide support as required by supervisor or Director and represent them and SDP if needed
Ensure acquisition and use of knowledge, expertise/ skills and capacity on new tools and techniques as and when required
Ensure that all materials and documents focus properly on SDP’s cross-cutting themes
Develop relevant capacity of SDP staff as needed at both central and local level
Educational Requirements:
Masters in social sciences, preferably in communications/ journalism/ media relations or development studies from any recognised university/ institution with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations. No 3rd division/ class or below CGPA is acceptable
Experience Requirements:
At least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in analytical and writing work related job, corporate communications, change communications, journalism, marketing, fundraising, public affairs or other related field within the international development sector
Additional Job Requirements:

Excellent computer and relevant technical skills on communication and advocacy material development (including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop etc.)
Excellent communicator with strong writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla
In-depth empirical and analytical understanding on key development issues in the context of urban and rural Bangladesh
Excellent team player with necessary analytical, organisational and project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills, able to work with minimal direction, pro-activeness, flexible and highly creative
Demonstrated hands-on experience in material development, with specific experience in technical vocational education and training, instructional materials/curriculum/module development and enterprise development programmes
Socio economic context of the country. TVET and Education system, National Skills Development Policy, National Education Policy, National Non-Formal Education Policy, national guidelines on TVET and SD
Age Range: Maximum 36 years
