Programme Head, Executive Director’s Team


Job Description/Responsibilities:

Stay informed about organisational developments in BI to provide substantial support to the ED in advancing those at BI HO, regions, and COs
Coordinate timely preparation of ED’s deliverables for meetings and engagements in liaison with country offices, programmes, and departments under the direct guidance and in consultation with the ED
Follow-up on meetings’ action items, the ED has chaired or convened
Ensure all documentation are organised
Programme and management quality improvement support to CRs, RDs, and programme anchor teams on behalf of the Executive Director; - Visit regional and country offices at least once in every six months, and - Support development of Annual Operating Plans (AOPs), and their monitoring systems at country and regional level, in alignment with BI-wide plans and monitoring - In collaboration with programme and finance teams, and under the guidance of the ED, support alignment of AOPs, with budgets, expenses, and reporting at CO, region, and programme level - Oversee measurable changes in the quality and outcomes of programmes - Ensure Grants Management mechanisms are up in running - Oversee both Safeguarding and Risk Management Policies mechanisms are in place and up and running as per organisational set expectations ? Support country offices, programmes, and departments' systematic organisation-wide learning processes to continue BRAC’s effort to build and nurture a learning culture within the organisation - Convene working groups - Provide technical assistance in annual operating plan (AOP) development at CO, regional, and programme team level - Support teams’ to conduct reflection sessions at CO, regional, and programme team level - Communicate outcomes and gaps back to ED for decisions and actions ? Ensure the availability (including collecting and maintaining) of data for quarterly Board reports ? Review the quality of data ? Check that monitoring data and financial data are discussed in appropriate forum ? Verify information presented by the ED
Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements: Master’s degree from a highly-ranked university programme with good to very good grades.

Experience Requirement:
At least 2-3 years relevant experience working in a highly regarded institution
Experience in managing a reasonable size development and/or humanitarian programme
Experience working in a fast paced working environment
Demonstrate leadership experience
International working experience

Strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with quantitative and qualitative information
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to distil complex information into concise and pragmatic messages
Talent for writing high-quality professional correspondence

Demonstrate ability to collaborate, coordinate, and network, both internally and externally to influence decisions in favour of BI directions

Highly capable with web research, Excel, and Powerpoint
Drive, flexibility, resilience and the ability to work under pressure
Ability to effectively work remotely, across time zones and team locations, as well in person
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suites
Proficiency in English is required (spoken, reading and written, native or C1 level)
Conversational Bangla language skills
