Team Lead, Communications (Contractual); Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme


Job Description/Responsibilities:

Develop communications strategy by collaborating with leadership
Lead communication team to drive high level communication initiatives
Ensure visible positioning of Humanitarian Crisis Management programme (HCMP) of BRAC both in national and global platform
Maintain regular communication with partners/ donors for implementing high standard program activities and advocacy with the relevant stakeholders
Carry out capacity building/ initiatives for the various sectors within BRAC
Represent BRAC in sectoral coordination meetings
Ensure periodic report to Management and Donor and contribute to BRAC's learning
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so

Requirements

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication/ Media and Communication/ International Relations/ Development Studies or any other relevant field from any recognised university/ institution

Experience Requirement: Minimum 7 years of experience in the field of communications in NGO/ INGO. Candidates having experience to work with different media at the local and the national level will get preference


Additional Requirements:
Commitment to an understanding of BRAC core values and principles
Have sound knowledge on development sector, global development scenario to identify funding trends, contemporary communication practices and platforms, media engagement etc.
Excellent skills in strategic communication, relationship building, project management, event management, fundraising, public speaking, creative writing, blogging and visual storytelling
Have effective acquaintance with people management
