Senior Officer, Cost & Budget; Health, Nutrition and Population Programme (HNPP)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Support in developing budget forecasts, fund requirements and initiate monthly cash calls from relevant teams implementing the envisioned social enterprise models
  • Coordinate timely cash receipts, expenditure and reconciliation to field offices (EFT, TT, DD)
  • Oversee the cash utilisation process on a periodic basis, identifying deviations in fund utilisation and mitigation steps
  • Support to maintain different financial statements and mechanisms for tracking funds and evaluating performances
  • Track collection and maintenance of all supporting collateral justifying expenses within the accounting period
  • Update HO current accounts after reconciling financial statements with field offices
  • Coordinate with BRAC’s Core Finance and Accounts team for recording and reconciliation of financial statements on a periodic basis
  • Orient staff periodically on the correct practices for recording financial transactions based on need
  • Maintain compliance with BRAC Financial Guidelines and Bangladesh Accounting Standards, identify challenges and mitigation steps
  • Support all internal, external and other audit of the assigned projects
  • Provide monthly information and analysis to the management team in terms of cost reduction
  • Provide analysis of operating costs and variances
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so



Educational Requirements:

Bachelors in Business Administration having concentration in Finance / Accounting from any recognised university with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations


Experience Requirement:

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in Accounts / Finance in any reputed Development / Government / Financial Institutions

Additional Requirements:

  • Firm knowledge on Accounting and Financial Practices
  • Should be sincere, polite, dynamic, hardworking and willing to work under pressure
  • Should have good communication skills in both Bangla and English
  • Sound knowledge on Computer Literacy
  • Firm knowledge on accounting and spreadsheet software (e.g. Tally and Excel)
