Position

Senior Officer, Cost & Budget; Health, Nutrition and Population Programme (HNPP)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Support in developing budget forecasts, fund requirements and initiate monthly cash calls from relevant teams implementing the envisioned social enterprise models
Coordinate timely cash receipts, expenditure and reconciliation to field offices (EFT, TT, DD)
Oversee the cash utilisation process on a periodic basis, identifying deviations in fund utilisation and mitigation steps
Support to maintain different financial statements and mechanisms for tracking funds and evaluating performances
Track collection and maintenance of all supporting collateral justifying expenses within the accounting period
Update HO current accounts after reconciling financial statements with field offices
Coordinate with BRAC’s Core Finance and Accounts team for recording and reconciliation of financial statements on a periodic basis
Orient staff periodically on the correct practices for recording financial transactions based on need
Maintain compliance with BRAC Financial Guidelines and Bangladesh Accounting Standards, identify challenges and mitigation steps
Support all internal, external and other audit of the assigned projects
Provide monthly information and analysis to the management team in terms of cost reduction
Provide analysis of operating costs and variances
Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Bachelors in Business Administration having concentration in Finance / Accounting from any recognised university with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations

Experience Requirement:

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in Accounts / Finance in any reputed Development / Government / Financial Institutions

Additional Requirements:

Firm knowledge on Accounting and Financial Practices
Should be sincere, polite, dynamic, hardworking and willing to work under pressure
Should have good communication skills in both Bangla and English
Sound knowledge on Computer Literacy
Firm knowledge on accounting and spreadsheet software (e.g. Tally and Excel)
