Programme Manager, WASH, Urban Development Programme (UDP) (Contractual)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all of UDP’s activities- including donor-funded projects like IsDB-WASH project intervention for 2020-­2024 ensuring development and programme wide implementation of a sound knowledge management framework.
  • Ensure all programmatic targets like; community mobilization, CAP implementation, WASH interventions like drainage network, community toilet, school sanitation block, tube-wel setup waste management, facial sludge management plant, advocacy and knowledge management, research issue according to annual plan maintaining high quality of results
  • Develop and build strategic relationship with policy actors like Minsters, Mayors, Councilors, CEOs, MPs and different GoBs officials and ensure strategic support for smooth implementation of UDP interventions
  • Collaboration with  city/municipality authority and also liaise with the relevant government line agencies, private sector, training institutions for project implementation
  • Manage field operations budget ensuring all expenditures are done according to approved budget and take appropriate measures if non-budgeted expenditures are required at field level
  • Oversee UDP’s information and communications related activities and ensure timely submission of donor reports, align with the line of BRAC’s logframe and AOP.
  • Development of FD6, AOPs, log-frame and production of different Information, review national and international best practices, innovations and successful interventions in areas relevant to UDP’s strategic priorities and take initiatives to incorporate these in the designs of existing and new interventions
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.



Educational Requirements:

Masters in Development Studies/Development Management/ BSc (Civil Engineer) from any recognized university with minimum all second class / division or equivalent GPA / CGPA in academic examinations. No 3rd division / class or below CGPA 2.50 is acceptable.


Experience Requirement:

  • Working experience of at least 8 years with NGOs, UN agency or international development organization and out of 8 years at least 5 years’ experience in the urban WASH project or programme is mandatory
  • Substantial experience in operations management of large scale, complex programmes/projects.
  • Experience of working in urban development interventions.
