Manager, Field Operations, Health, Urban Development Programme (UDP) (Contractual)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operational of UDP’s activities including donor-funded projects like IsDB-Health project intervention for 2020-­2024 ensuring development and programme wide implementation of a sound knowledge management framework.
  • Collaborate with Civil surgeon, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, community clinic, NGO health clinic,  physicians, nurses, and other hospital professional staff to establish standards for running a medical/health facility and ensure strategic support for smooth implementation of UDP interventions.
  • Ensure the consideration of cross cutting areas such as gender, protection, DRR and sustainability within all Health interventions, also considering the importance of integration with other sectors such as health and nutrition.
  • Select and design the most appropriate form of Health Services (to include ophthalmic services, outreach services, ANC and PNC related, vector control) taking into full account the local conditions, resources, customs and cultural norms.
  • Work closely with program support functions (logistics and finance departments) for Health program supplies and activities planning working with field teams and logistics to procure project supplies within the project budget.
  • Manage field operations budget ensuring all expenditures are done according to approved budget and take appropriate measures if non-budgeted expenditures are required at field level
  • Check, verify and update all financial and administrative recording and proceedings at head office level including updating all files and registers; checking the bill/voucher; account checks for miscoding; audit compliance etc.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Any other task as and when required by the management.



Educational Requirements:

Master’s in Development Studies/Development Management/ MPH or any other relevant discipline from any recognised University with minimum second class in all exams/CGPA 2.5 and above or equivalent.


Experience Requirement:

Minimum experience of 6 years with NGOs, UN agency or international development organisation and out of 6 years at least 3 years’ experience in experience in the urban health project or programme will give preference.

  • Current national and global development trends related to women empowerment, , gender and justice, legal aid, rights based approach,  access to information; SDGs.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding Project cycle management, results based management and rights based approach.
  • Skills of Leadership and people management, Strategic thinking, Decision making and problem solving, Communication and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
