Medical Officer-Urban Development Programme (Contractual)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Carry out medical examinations, treatment and consultations for extreme poor and pavement dwellers of project.
  • Evaluate patients and provide appropriate medical treatment for various illnesses and injuries.
  • Order and carry out appropriate tests.
  • Co-ordinate appropriate follow-up care for patient following initial medical examination.
  • Make referrals where appropriate.
  • Provide back-up and support to the Paramedics who have primary responsibility for services providing in BUH&DCs and BOC.
  • Liaise with Psychological ,VAW ,Infection prevention and Disaster Management Health Team  where indicated.
  • Follow-up of high risk pregnant mothers, new born and referred cases.
  • Contribute to the development of health information resource, culturally appropriate clinical services and related health and wellbeing events.
  • Keep up-to-date with respect to developments within occupational health, elderly medicine and other specialties relevant to the medical work.
  • Document all patient evaluations, treatments, medications and transactions according to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.



Educational Requirements:



Experience Requirement:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Health project or programme or Health Care services sector is mandatory.
