Programme Manager, Health, Urban Development Programme (UDP) (Contractual)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all of UDP’s activities including donor-funded projects like IsDB-Health project intervention for 2020-2024 ensuring development and programme wide implementation of a sound knowledge management framework.
  • Work with all divisions of an organization, including people management, development goals, efficiency and quality improvement, financial management, financial planning, Health services development, compliance, public relations, and internal communications.
  • Collaborate with ministry of health, DGH, Civil surgeon, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, physicians, nurses, and other hospital professional staff to establish standards for running a medical/health facility and ensure strategic support for smooth implementation of UDP interventions.
  • Collaboration with city/municipality authority and also liaise with the relevant government line agencies, private sector, training institutions for project implementation.
  • Development of FD6, AOPs, log-frame and production of different Information, review national and international best practices, innovations and successful interventions in areas relevant to UDP’s strategic priorities and take initiatives to incorporate these in the designs of existing and new interventions.
  • Collaboration with city/municipality authority and also liaise with the relevant government line agencies, private sector, training institutions for project implementation.
  • Manage field operations budget ensuring all expenditures are done according to approved budget and take appropriate measures if non-budgeted expenditures are required at field level.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Any other task as and when required by the management.



Educational Requirements:

MBBS or Masters of Public Health or any other relevant discipline from any recognised University with minimum second class in all exams/CGPA 2.5 and above or equivalent.


Experience Requirement:

Minimum experience of 8 years with NGOs, UN agency or international development organisation and out of 6 years at least 5 years’ experience in experience in the Health project or programme .

Additional Requirements:

  • Current national and global development trends related to women empowerment, , gender and justice, legal aid, rights based approach,  access to information; SDGs.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding Project cycle management, results based management and rights based approach.
  • Skills of Leadership and people management, Strategic thinking, Decision making and problem solving, Communication and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
