Position

Project Manager (Contractual); Climate Change Programme


Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Overall implementation and monitoring of project activities related to project outputs
  • Enterprise- and community-based implementation of climate-resilient livelihoods for women
  • Community-based monitoring and last-mile dissemination of EWs for climate risk informed, adaptive management of resilient livelihoods
  • Participatory, site-specific mapping, beneficiary selection, and mobilisation of community based management structures for climate resilient drinking water solutions
  • Strengthening climate resilient value chains and market linkages for alternative, resilient livelihoods
  • Implementation of climate-resilient drinking water solutions at the household level
  • Community-based, climate-risk informed Operation & Maintenance (O&M) and management of the resilient drinking water solutions
  • Strengthening institutional capacities, knowledge and learning for climate-risk informed management of livelihoods and drinking water security
  • Maintain sharing of lessons learnt and best practices from major programme intervention
  • Producing project progress report and financial report and reporting to PMU and PNGO within a given time
  • Maintain a quality liaison and coordinate with local, regional and national level stake
  • Procure necessary materials for implementation
  • Use developed tools and strategies for ensuring quality implementation and fruitful impact of the project
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Masters in Management/ Development Studies/ Disaster Management/ Environmental Studies/ Fisheries/ Marine Science/ Social Science/ Agriculture or any relevant subject from recognised University/ Institution with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations

Experience Requirement:

Minimum 05 years of working experience in development sector including 2 years of particular experience in managing DRR and climate change related programme is required. Candidates having experience in work with LGI’s will get preference


Additional Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of climate change adaptation, resilience, community capacity building initiatives, climate-resilient drinking water solutions, resilient livelihood, value chain and market linkage, gender, environmental and social compliance issues etc.
  • Excellent skills in community mobilisation, participatory mapping, climate resilient livelihood, social and environmental auditing
  • Proven experience in preparing budgets, procurement of materials and monitoring of activities
  • Excellent skills in report writing (e.i. financial report, progress report etc.)
  • Capable of planning and prioritizing under any stress situation
  • Excellent skills in team building, problem-solving and decision making
  • Demonstrated coordination skill and ability to implement the programme in a challenging work environment
  • Excellent communication, coordination and networking skill
  • Familiar with MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
