Position

Manager, Material Development and Communication, Gender Justice & Diversity (GJD) Programme


Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the process of planning, development and implementing communication activities of GJD to achieve BRAC Gender Strategy Goal.
  • Ensure productions of gender related IEC/BCC materials for BRAC staff and wider community including flip chart, video documentary, contents of social media, training module, implementation toots, guidelines, advocacy materials etc.
  • Manage the publication of promotional materials by consulting with respective programme personnel, procurement unit, communication department and vendor.
  • Manage resources (budget and work) to deliver results to agreed quality standards.
  • Work with different units of GJD for producing high quality gender responsive communication products for a wide range of audiences including programmes, donors, and policy makers both at national and global level.
  • Liaison with and encourage different BRAC programmes/departments/enterprises for ensuring gender sensitive communications materials.
  • Design and produce training and implementing materials for Gender Integration unit, Organisational Development Unit and Advocacy Unit for different kind of stakeholders.
  • Develop capacity of field staff by orienting and coaching on communication materials developed for achieving desired goal.
  • Update regularly GJD’s brochure and website.
  • Develop popular write-ups for different media, blogs, internal newsletters and partner organisations.
  • Ensuring the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practicing, promoting and endorsing the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensuring the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Following the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encouraging others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Masters’ in Social Science of English but preferably in Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Public Relations/ from a recognized University. Strong command in English is highly desirable.

Experience Requirement:

Minimum 4 years of experience in development sector with relevant work experience.


Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge on gender equality issues, policies, priorities and programmes in the context of Bangladesh.
  • Graphics designing skill.
  • Understanding of strategic and technical aspects in communications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge, experience and capabilities relating to designing and implementing gender equality concerns in designing new communication materials and implementing gender equality promotion actions and gender mainstreaming.
