Position

Programme Organiser; Urban Development Programme (Contractual)

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Implementation of the ‘Empowering the RMG workers living in urban slums of Dhaka’ project’s interventions at the field level as front line staff.
Organise field level events as per guideline to achieve project goals, objectives and outcomes.
Maintain strong communication and networking with RMG factory officials for implementing activities within the factory and linked with RMG workers.
Maintain strong relation with house owners of nearby slums where RMG workers are living to mobilise and ensure services from OSSC.
Maintain documentation of implemented project activities and preparation of monthly, half-yearly and yearly report.
Assist in organising training, workshops and other events at field level according to target plan.
Coordinate activities of online data base, DPS + health insurance and Maya Apa App.
Provide support to staff from other BRAC Programmes, technical team, research team, knowledge management and M&E department of ‘Empowering the RMG workers living in urban slums of Dhaka’ in the field for effective implementation.
Create working relationship with local labor organisations, service providers etc.
Liaison with local government institutions, local law enforcement agencies for proper implementation of the project activities.
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Master’s/Bachelor’s in any discipline from any recognised university with minimum 2nd division/class or equivalent GPA/CGPA in all academic examinations.

Experience Requirement:

Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant position/field.

Additional Requirements:

Substantial experience in operations management in the urban areas
Experience of working with RMG workers and implementing pilot, large and complex projects successfully
Competence in analysing the social and gender dynamics within urban set up
Community organising and social mobilisation
Excellent communication, presentation, organising and negotiation skills
Skills in documentation, facilitation and reporting
Awareness of political processes and protocols
Should be adaptable, creative, motivated and flexible
