Deputy Manager, Communications; Human Rights and Legal Aid Services Programme

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with programme leadership and central communications to plan communications initiatives to support the AOP objectives and look for communication opportunities for the Human Rights and Legal Aids Services programme
  • Work with programme leadership and central communications to build the capacity of programme staff and drive collaboration, culture and consistency
  • Work with programme leadership and central communications to ensure internal and external visibility of the programme
  • Ensure at least one flagship high-level communication initiative is undertaken each year to support the achievement of the AOP objectives
  • Support leadership and staff to be published on BRAC channels and support central communications as needed
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so



Educational Requirements:

Minimum Bachelors in Media and Communication/ International Development / Development Studies/ Marketing or any relevant subject from a recognised University/ Institution with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in academic examinations.


Experience Requirement:

Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field is required. Candidates having experience in the field of development communications will get preference.


Additional Requirements:

  • Capable of Strategic communication, relationship building, project management, event management, social media communication
  • Skilled in public speaking, creative writing, blogging, visual storytelling
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Bengali, and self-starter with the ability to source and craft relevant knowledge and communication products
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in graphic design, website and social media technologies and applications
  • Ability to set priority, meet deadlines and plan projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of development sector, global development scenario to identify new trends
  • Knowledge on contemporary communication practices and platforms, media engagement
