Position

Head of Social Enterprise, BRAC Education Programme


Job Description/Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Develop annual business plans and budgets aligned with the Enterprise’s long term social enterprise goals.
  • Plan well-analyzed, new and sustainable school social enterprise models, offering significant point of differences in the areas of academic framework, operational design and financial projections.
  • Coordinate with other BRAC Education Programme (BEP) components and contribute to overall BEP strategic direction.
  • Analyze field operational process, identify gaps and barriers, and develop operational plans that will lead to heightened operational efficiency, support easy monitoring and quick action.
  • Innovate ideas to stay operational and relevant with special focus during emergencies and unforeseen situations.
  • Seek out and establish new resources, and work with the Leadership team to measure the effectiveness of the programmes.
  • Plan the delivery of programmes and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. 

Operational:

  • Oversee day to day operations of the Enterprise and provide strategic level operational direction to the team; initiate crash projects to address under performance and meet targets in the areas of enrollment, revenue performance, quality, development & production and new project management.
  • Coordinate the efforts of various functional and support areas (Operations, Content, Quality &, Training, Marketing and Finance); provide close supervision to the functional team leads to help them to break down broad goals into achievable short term objectives
  • Lead financial planning, repurposing necessities, fund shortage issues and resource optimization initiatives.
  • Support the process optimisation of field operations to ensure operational efficiency and accurate collection of information/data.    
  • Ensure activities operate within the values, policies and procedures of the organization and that activities and staff comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.

Human Resource Management:

  • Recruit talented people, create opportunity for them to grow and be future leaders.
  • Mentor team leaders to identify strengths and weaknesses of individual team mates, reallocate skill mix based on abilities, and pay close supervision to slow learners to improve their delivery standard.
  • Promote a culture of positivity, harmony and empathy.
  • Ensure human resource policies, procedures and practices of the organization are followed.
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Masters in Business discipline from any recognised university.

Experience Requirement:

Minimum 10 years in relevant National or International Business/ Service/ Retail or development organisations.


Additional Requirements:

  • Create and maintain liaisons with internal and external stakeholders.   
  • Establish processes to identify, assess and prioritize risks and deploy resources to monitor and minimise impact.
