Position

Data Specialist, Technology Division

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Analyze and Verify Data - by conducting a planned data analysis and conversion based on the predefined criteria for mining information. The data specialist will also ensure that proper source and destination data set are mapped properly and accurate information are retrieved and being recorded.
Design and development of data conversation software and solution to convert mission critical data as and when needed.
Architect, design and implement complex database system configurations at an expert level in demanding programme/organization environments
Responsible for logical design, physical design, external model design and integrity control
Design and implement automation using scripts, must be proficient in scripting, writing SQL queries/scripts, store procedures and triggers, analyzing query performance using query plans and tuning query performance, index management and statistics
Data migration when needed includes Extraction, Transform and Load (ETL). Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, index, constraints, etc. for data platform and custom applications
Manage data integrity accurately to protect data from unauthorized use and manage relationship between the data to maintain data consistency. Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
Management, Control and Monitoring user access to the databases. Generating various reports by querying from database as per need
Implement and maintain cloud databases in Google Cloud Platform
Proactively use documentation and data lineage to prove to auditors that appropriate guidelines has been followed
Work with key business representatives, data owners, end users, application designers and architect to model the current data (where models do not already exist) and for the said system.
Create and generate entity-relationship diagrams for relational systems and dimensional diagrams for different database management systems , data warehouse, data marts and data cubes.
Responsible for creating data model structures to enhance performance of the application by creating aggregation and summarization structures.
Responsible to guide development partners on building Data Warehouse / Data Mart as per management requirements for decision making using the data residence in different segment of BRAC.
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

B.Sc./ M.Sc. in Computer Science/ Information technology from recognized university.

Experience Requirement:

7 to 8 years of experience in administering on premise/ cloud based multi user environment with expertise in planning, designing, building, and implementing complex database systems.
The candidate must have experience working in the database domain with at least 8 to 10 years of experience managing all operations of RDBMS databases such as Oracle/ SQL Server/ PostgreSQL/ MySQL/ MS SQL Server.
PostgreSQL DB experience with architectural knowledge would be an added advantage.
