Manager; Climate Change Programme


Job Description/Responsibilities:

Participate in implementation, management and supervision of different projects of the programme
Manage the tasks, distribution and coordinate schedules with project team members
Ensure adequate coverage and documentation of project activities
Ensure regular supportive supervision and monitoring of field level staff
Contribute in planning of project activities and ensure logistic support
Collect reports and updates of the intervening areas from the assigned person and cross check with others
Extensive field visit to ensure proper implementation of programme activities
Work closely with BRAC’s other programmes for initiating practice of “Mainstreaming Climate Change” starting with TUP and WASH
Coordinate office supplies and contribute to financial operations including purchasing and accounting
Work closely with Climate Change Programmes’s other field level activities (committee formation, sapling distribution, livelihood support, resilient house, etc.)
Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
Any other assignment as deem appropriate to the Climate Change Programme

Requirements

Educational Requirements: Masters in any subject from any recognised university with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations

Experience Requirement: Minimum 6 years of work experience in the development sector with firsthand experience on project/ programme implementation


Additional Requirements:
Knowledge on field operation related activities; especially- resilience building, climate change adaptation, recovery and rehabilitations
Should have good oral and written communication skills in Bangla and English
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.) and internet browsing
Expertise on report preparation and project proposal writing
Good managerial, leadership and project management skill
Capacity to work independently and with minimum guidance
Must maintain effectiveness, integrity, honesty and inclusiveness
