Position

Deputy General Manager/ Assistant General Manager, Accounts, Finance and Accounts


Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements of all BRAC projects complying with applicable International Accounting Standards (IAS/ IFRS) with annexure statements
  • Prepare half-yearly and annual Financial Statements of BRAC for external auditor complying with applicable International Accounting Standards (IAS/ IFRS) with annexure statements
  • Prepare different reconciliation statement as required by management
  • Prepare Strategic Partnership Arrangement (SPA) fund requisition and reconcile fund allocation
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements of Microfinance Programme and assist auditors as and when needed.
  • Ensure applicable accounting standards are appropriately applied; take initiative to implement new accounting standards from time to time.
  • Analytical review of agreements/ contracts/ project proposals from all donors before signing on behalf of BRAC.
  • Ensuring timely fund requisition along with necessary supporting documents and preparing financial reports with necessary statements as per contract/ agreement/ MOU
  • Maintain proper coordination with the internal and external auditors to satisfy audit queries to ensure that unqualified reports are issued on need basis
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Masters or MBA in Accounting from any reputed university with 2nd class

Experience Requirement:

At least 8 years in the field of Accounts / Finance / Audit is required


Additional Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge on on Financial Management, Accounting, Budgeting, Finance and Auditing
  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standard (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Should be sincere, polite, dynamic, hardworking and willing to work under pressure
  • Should have good communication skills in both Bengali and English
  • Sound knowledge on computer literacy
