Job Purpose
The Assistant Chief Engineer will be responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of assigned construction projects through Project Engineers. This role ensures adherence to design specifications, standard construction practices, and quality standards while managing project planning, scheduling, and execution. Additionally, the position involves conducting site surveys, preparing project proposals, and implementing risk mitigation strategies to ensure the successful, safe, timely, and cost-effective completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution – Lead project teams in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and execution plans, ensuring proper staffing and resource allocation.
- Stakeholder & Regulatory Coordination – Collaborate with design teams, internal units, and regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and manage project-related issues effectively.
- Contract & Cost Management – Oversee contract development, execution, and compliance while monitoring project expenses to ensure financial discipline and cost control.
- Progress Monitoring & Technical Support – Track project status, adjust schedules as needed, and provide technical guidance to resolve construction challenges.
- Quality & Safety Assurance – Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations, promoting a secure and high-standard work environment.
- Measurement & Payment Verification – Verify work measurements, certify bills, address discrepancies, and coordinate with accounts for timely payments.
- Material Supply & Risk Management – Ensure timely material supply by coordinating with procurement, tracking requisitions, and verifying deliveries. Simultaneously, assess and mitigate project risks to prevent disruptions and delays.
- Project Closure & Documentation – Facilitate project handover, ensuring functionality and client satisfaction while maintaining comprehensive project records.
- Team Development & Mentorship – Mentor Project Engineers, enhance their technical and managerial skills, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Preferably in Civil Engineering)Experience Requirements
Minimum 10 to 12 years of working experience in Civil engineering with a strong track record in managing large-scale construction projects. Proven experience in leading project teams and managing multi-site operations.Benefits
