Job Purpose

Responsible for reporting of Sustainability Disclosure (S1) and Climate Disclosure (S2) under the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). S/he will be leading the development of BRAC’s GHG inventory and emissions reporting following GHG protocol as part of the Climate Disclosure (S2). This is an organizational approach and the role aims to support the Programmes and Departments in developing their GHG emission inventories including Scope 1, 2, and 3.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting methodologies following international standards (e.g., GHG Protocol).
  • Develop comprehensive GHG emissions inventories (including Scope 1, 2, and 3) for BRAC programmes.
  • Maintain and update GHG emission inventories, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and voluntary reporting frameworks.
  • Conduct corporate and project-level carbon footprint assessments.
  • Support organizations in setting science-based targets (SBTs) and developing net-zero strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and disclosures for sustainability reporting frameworks such as IFRS Sustainability Standards (ISSB).
  • Development and implementation of carbon reduction strategies, including energy efficiency measures and renewable energy integration.
  • Analyse climate and energy policies and their impact on emissions reporting and reduction targets.
  • Provide technical support and training on GHG accounting, carbon risk assessment, and IFRS sustainability reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, investors, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency in carbon and climate risk disclosures.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements

Master in Climate Change Science/Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science or any relevant subject

Experience Requirements

Minimum 08 years of work experience in calculating/tracking/reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or any relevant field.
